Lanka IOC conducted its first FREE Health Screening Camp in collaboration with HelpAge Sri Lanka, under the theme “WE CARE” at its Petrol Shed at Kandy Road, Peliyagoda on 29.12.2012 to commemorate 10th anniversary of its operations in Sri Lanka.
Overwhelming response was received for this Free Health Check up camp and nearly 265 people of that area were screened for cataract surgery, diabeties, Spectacles requirement, various other illnesses, non communicable diseases etc.,. The patients were not only given free medicines at the camp but were also referred to specialised hospitals. Subsequently, free spectacles also were given to the people who were found to be in need of the same at the screening camp.
Mr Subodh Dakwale, Managing Director, Lanka IOC PLC said that this is one of the several initiatives taken by Lanka IOC under the theme “WE CARE” to contribute towards welfare of the society. He also said that Lanka IOC takes pride in being a socially responsible corporate and series of social service projects will be launched under the theme “WE CARE”. Our asscociation with Helpage SriLanka will help in facilitating Health Screening Camp through our Petrol Sheds to reach the needy people who are unable to have a health profile of their own and to offer them free services and medicines.
Lanka IOC PLC in its approach to help the community in which it operates, has organized yet another FREE Health Screening Camp on 07.06.2013 at the Trinco Terminal and expecting to serve nearly 300 people of that area. Based on the recommendation/prescription of the Doctors who will be screening for any health issues, the attendees will be provided with free medication, free spectacles and also referred to specialized hospitals, if necessity arises.
