Lanka IOC Plc Trincomalee Oil Terminal handed over 100 nos School Bags to children of families below the poverty line under the Trincomalee District Samurdhi Programme. This event was organized by the District Secretariat, Trincomalee and was done in the presence of Mr N A A Pushpakumara, Government Agent and District Secretary, Trincomalee. 300 nos of participants attended the programme.
Trincomalee District Samurdhi Children programme conducts various competitions annually for children in Essay Writing, Drawings, Debates, Poem writing and other cultural events in Sinhala and Tamil.
Mr Benoj Paul, VP (Ops & LBP) and Mr T Chiranjeevi, VP (Ops) handed over bags to the winners of the cultural events in the presence of Mr N A A Pushpakumara, Government Agent (GA). The GA and his team appreciated LIOC for extending the support for various welfare events.
As part of World Environmental day, Lanka IOC , Trincomalee has conducted tree planation programme on 05.06.2017. Around 24 saplings were done at Jetty Road and Main Gate Quarters area.
There was a mass gathering from all sections and around nearly 70 nos were participated .
Sr VP (Ops & LBP ) has addressed the employees on the event and made efforts on creating awareness on environmental issues and its impact on day to day life.
Lanka IOC PLC organizes Medical and Eye Care camp for benefit of flood affected people residing in and around Akuressa. We restored operations of our flood affected RO within 48 hours. Realizing the need for immediate relief for flood affected population, LIOC organized medical camp in which free medicine and spectacles were provided. Local population came in huge number and about 300 people were attended by doctors in the Medical camp, they were provided free medicines and spectacles. Looking at the huge crowd, medical camp has been extended for one more day.
CPC, CPSTL & LIOC employees gets training on SAP at IndianOil’s Training centre at Gurgaon

With the assistance of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., SAP (ERP) system was implemented in the year 2010 for entire Petroleum Sector in Sri Lanka involving all the three oil companies viz Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC), Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL), Lanka IOC PLC (LIOC).
Under the guidance of Mr. Chandima Weerakkody, Hon. Minister of Petroleum Resources Development, it was decided in SAP ERP Steering Committee that the employees of CPC and CPSTL should be get refresher training in SAP. Since an efficient ERP system is an utmost necessity to take any company to newer heights, it was decided that concentrated efforts be made to further develop SAP and take the IT development forward.
Accordingly, during the bilateral meeting held between Hon. Minister of Petroleum Resources Development, GoSL and Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, GoI, it was decided that employees of CPC and CPSTL will be given fresh training by Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. It was decided that aprx. 92 employees of CPC and CPSTL will be sent to India for training. The first batch of 28 employees led by Mr. A H S Wijesinghe, Additional Secretary (Development) and Mr. Anuj Jain, SVP(Finance) went to India to get training on SAP (ERP) system at IndianOil Institute of Petroleum Management (IiPM), India.
IiPM is the apex learning centre of IndianOil at Gurgaon, India. It conducts advanced management education programmes in collaboration with premier business schools and topline professionals. IiPM has been conducting global standard international business management programmes. IiPM is an ISO 9001-2000 certificate institute and has been awarded the Golden Peacock National Award for ‘Innovative Training Practices’ and other prestigious awards such as “Best Innovation in Teaching” award and ‘Innovative Training Practices’ award. Executive Director, IiPM personally coordinated the training at IiPM for Sri Lankan delegates.
IndianOil’s state of art ‘Corporate Business Technology Centre’ that provides SAP & other IS support across India is also located within the premises of IiPM. All the participants visited the Technology & Data Centre and magnitude of the Centre totally mesmerized all the participants.
The training programme was customized to the requirement of participants and various SAP modules were extensively covered by the faculty members. Executive Director, Information systems, IOC closely monitored the training programme and gave his valuable inputs to the participants.
Apart from learning various modules of the SAP, participants also visited IndianOil’s Corporate Office, New Delhi. At the SAP training closing event, Mr. Wijesinghe thanked Mr. Shyam Bohra MD, LIOC and IndianOil Management for arranging this training and stated that this sort of training will strengthen the relationship between CPC, CPSTL, LIOC and IOC. While giving their feedback, participants stated that this training programme will not only improve their day-to-day efficiency but will also help them to enhance their knowledge for future technological upgradation of SAP (ERP) system. Next batch of the training is being planned in the month of June 2017.
Chairman, IOC also addressed the participants & shared his fond memories of the time when he was on the Board of LIOC and conveyed his best wishes to the participants.

Other features as noted were its increased speed, smoothness, higher life span and energy with a higher load. Lanka IOC PLC Managing Director Shyam Bohra said that they are pleased to introduce the global container concept to Sri Lanka.
“The new design has the ease of handling it, and the aesthetic look is better than before. This particular design has been developed following research,” he said.He added that this container is much stronger in terms of design and the container can be used for different purposes and will certainly benefit the end users more. Though there are 13 players in the country’s lubricant market at present, Chevron being the leader, he said that with improved accessibility and brands, their market share is increasing year-on-year.
Being the number two player in Sri Lanka and enjoying a market share of 17-18 percent at the moment, he said that they are aspiring to touch up to 25 percent in 4-5 years. He added that as the R&D is done in India, the new technology is being immediately imparted to Sri Lanka.
He further said that with over 1,000 commercial grades and over 1,500 formulations encompassing literally every conceivable application, SERVO serves as a one-stop shop for complete lubrication solutions in the automotive, industrial, and marine segments.
It was also noted that it comes to Sri Lanka as a compliment from the parent company as it will not add any extra cost to LIOC or consumers.
As LIOC exports Servo brand of lubricants to Maldives, they would be exporting to Indonesia as well in the near future.

One such workshop on Capability building was conducted for dealers in association with Faculty of Management studies, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The major topics included in this workshop Attitude change, Human Resources Management, Customer orientation, and Brand Management.
About 65 dealers participated in this workshop successfully conducted by Senior lecturer Mr. Rukmal Weerasinghe and Dr. Janak Kumarasinghe, in the presence of Senior Vice President (RS & HR) Mr. Siddharth Agarwal.
